It won’t make you happy

We can get stuck in patterns of chasing happiness.

We seek it from all sorts of places.

We chase one thing after another.

A better job.

A faster car.

A bigger house.

A different relationship.

We’re always looking for something new.

Hoping that it will bring us happiness.

Yet such pursuits never pan out.

They always disappoint.

They might bring pleasure.

They might improve our circumstances.

Make our lives more comfortable.

Happiness, though?

Nothing we pursue outside of ourselves brings happiness.

That only comes from within.

Seeking it elsewhere is futile.

The relationship.

Whatever you seek.

It may play a role in your quality of life.

It won’t make you happy.

Only you can do that.

That’s the million dollar question.

One we’ve been seeking to answer for millennia, if not longer.

One thing’s fairly certain, though.

It’s not often found in external factors.

It comes from within.

Start there.

Start by shifting your focus from the outside to the inside.

By looking to yourself for happiness.

That step probably won’t take you all the way.

It’s a great first step.

You’ve got this.
