It’s okay to quit
Have you ever felt like you wanted to quit, but felt pressure to continue?
Perhaps something you started doing voluntarily.
Maybe something you were asked to do.
Or even something that just started out of nowhere.
At first, the effort was promising.
It seemed worthy.
You started to realize, after a time, though, that it wasn’t quite what you thought it might be.
That the time and energy required to maintain the effort may not be worth the benefit it offers.
You think about letting go.
But you’re not sure.
After all, there’s quite a stigma about quitting these days.
What about grit?
Toughing it out?
Giving it all you’ve got?
Is what you’re feeling just a phase?
Do you need to just give it more time?
These aren’t easy questions to answer.
There’s one thing, though, about which you can rest assured.
When you feel that something you’re doing is no longer serving you, it’s okay to stop.
It’s okay to let go.
To create space.
The decision is yours alone.
Regardless of what you or anybody else calls it.
You alone decide which efforts play a role in your best life.
When it’s no longer a net “win”.
Of course, some efforts necessitate more consideration than others.
Some decisions are more significant and difficult to reverse than others.
However, if the only thing that’s holding you back is fear of judgment.
Or fear of the unknown.
It might not be easy.
It might not be comfortable.
But the freedom and space you’ll find will be worth it.
You’re worth it.
You’ve got this.
