Stop worrying about what you’re not
It can be easy to beat ourselves up when we fail.
When we’re not good at something.
When we make mistakes.
We see other people succeeding all the time.
We see it in documentaries.
We see it on social media.
We see it in our families and friends.
It seems like everybody is so freaking good at everything.
Yet, we’re just not as good as they are.
We don’t have their skills.
We don’t have their talents.
We don’t have their gifts.
We feel like we’re just not that good at anything.
If you feel like this, don’t be so hard on yourself.
There’s nothing wrong with you.
Take some pressure off.
You won’t be good at everything.
You’ll probably suck, actually, at most things.
Everybody else does, too.
None of us are good at that much.
Yet, we all have our strengths.
Our unique gifts.
Stop worrying about what you’re not.
Start focusing on who you are.
Of course, you might want to work on your shortcomings.
Of course, you might want to learn and grow.
Of course, you shouldn’t settle for your current circumstances.
But compare yourself only to your previous self.
Because you’ve got your own unique light to shine.
You might never know who wishes they had your skills.
Who wishes they had your talents.
You can only be you.
Be the best at being you that you can be.
You’ve got this.
