The faster you fail, the faster you succeed
There’s such a stigma about failure.
We look down on it.
We don’t admit it when it happens.
We put so much pressure on ourselves to succeed.
Or at least to look as though we’re succeeding.
Failure cannot be avoided, though.
It’s impossible to make one’s way through life without failure.
When we set goals, we will inevitably at times not achieve them.
This is especially true as we set more ambitious goals.
As we aim for the highest level of our potential.
If we’re pushing ourselves, we will fall short.
We know this, but we still fear failure.
Often, this is due to how we think others will perceive us.
We’re worried about what others will think.
But they’re not the ones in the arena.
They’re the ones focused more on others than on themselves.
Why does their opinion matter?
Only because you’ve decided it matters.
Of course, it might be that you are your toughest critic.
That you don’t care what others think.
Yet, you never live up to your own standards.
What’s driving that?
Do you not know that you can always be harder on yourself?
That you’ll never attain perfection?
That you can always do more?
Don’t be so harsh on yourself.
Let yourself fail.
You don’t have to like it.
You don’t have to enjoy it.
But you do have to accept it.
It’s going to happen.
It’s up to you to decide how to handle it.
Can it not serve you?
Is it not a feedback mechanism?
A tool for becoming who you want to be?
For shaping your best life?
For learning what it takes to actually succeed?
You’ll take missteps.
You’ll make mistakes.
You’ll miss the mark over and over again.
You will fail.
This is nothing to fear.
Nothing to beat yourself up over.
When you fail, you can learn.
You can grow.
You can move forward.
The faster you fail, the faster you succeed.
You are worthy of a most excellent life.
That will require work.
That will require failure.
That will require dusting yourself and trying again.
Keep moving forward.
You’ve got this.
